Oliver Crew R-53
Oliver Crew R-53 Summary
The Oliver Crew came into the 492nd towards the end of July. The were short of two men, a bombardier and a gunner. On 31 July, they were assigned to the 857th BS. But they never got a chance to fly a combat mission before the Group was disbanded.
Lt Oliver was reassigned to fly as co-pilot on the Konstand Crew 711. Lt Maynard became the co-pilot for the Orthman Crew 806. Sgt Bryan was reassigned to the Mills Crew R-45. The rest were probably put into the replacement pool. The five enlisted men were transferred to the 466th BG.
