I just found an error on our mission pages that, frankly, has me both embarrassed and baffled. It's in regard to Politz, the place so nice they bombed it twice! Seems I placed one of those missions in Germany and the other in Poland. Ouch!

The Arizona Liberator Group has the simplest of goals: meet once a year in the spring, somewhere convenient to an airport where the Collings B-24 would be, and do lunch. It's time to do it again.

In 2002, my wife Lynne, my son Mike and I took the ride of a lifetime on a Collings Foundation B-24 Liberator! The experience is still fresh enough in our minds to generate a rush of excitement to this day.

Writers before and during WWII did not have the luxury of knowing what the outcome of the war would be. Many questioned whether or not Americans of the day could rise to the challenge of defeating the Axis powers. It was far from certain at the time.

My film production crew and I flew aboard the Collings Foundation's B-24 Liberator from Arlington to Love Field last week and got some excellent footage. What a trip!

The Arizona Liberator Group was formed by B-24 veterans in the Phoenix area that met each other when the Collings Foundation's aircraft would come to town. They've been meeting regularly for the last 18 years just to do lunch. Today was that time again!
